Family Promise of Greater Merced Host Congregations
A Host Congregation is any church that can assist Family Promise of Greater Merced by providing overnight shelter to Family Promise's families. Family Promise will transport families to the host congregation at about 5:00 pm and transport them back to the Family Promise Day Center the next morning at 7:00. The Host Congregation will provide nutritious meals at dinner and breakfast as well as help the families prepare a sack lunch. Volunteers will prepare the meals and remain at the Host Congregation overnight to provide security, assiistance and guidance.
We now have 7 host congregations who are committed to our network. However, Family Promise of Greater Merced needs 13 Host Congregations to start up our Network. If you are already involved, talk up Family Promise of Greater Merced with friends in other groups. If your congregation is not yet participating as a host or support congregation, please encourage them to get involved.
